AVG VPN for Mac not connecting

I am so frustrated (and not being able to actually get AVG support directly is doubly frustrating). 

I have an intermittent problem with my VPN–it connects and then disconnects within about 15 seconds, and then I get an error code (MVE73U this time, but it's different every time I troubleshoot). Nothing in the FAQs has worked (I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling the VPN). My subscription is up to date, and everything is installed.

Any help you can provide would be much appreciated. I'm this close to just cancelling my subscription.
