Let us disable the Kill Switch option and check for the status.
Get into settings of AVG Secure VPN and select "Network Security Tab" to see the check box for kill switch.
Uncheck the box and check the status with the program.
If the issue persist, reinstall AVG Secure VPN and keep us informed about the status.

The VPN keeps dropping sync every time the Wi-Fi signal is lost. Without any notice. Cable Onda in Panama isn't very reliable, so frequent drops in service are expected. Especially in the morning. Afternoon service is much more reliable. It could be that someone is turning off and on the Wi-Fi in anticipation of the VPN dropping sync. The modem Security is PSK (WPA or RSN).
However, I am not even somewhat comfortable with this old modem (Arris 1672G).
