Usually, you may sometimes experience a slower internet connection when using Secure VPN.
This is because VPN encrypts traffic and data before sending it to a server. Depending on the distance and capacity of the server, this process may cause a slightly slower, but safer, internet connection.
In this regard, you can try connecting to different servers (location) to identify the server that provides better network connectivity.

Since the latest AVG VPN Update July 2019 my PC Internet connection has slowed considerably compared with before the update. The problem seems to be with "resolving host" that takes so much longer now. Is this to be expected after the update???
