Hi Therese,
We are here to help.
Please check whether the following option has been turned on:
AVG Secure VPN -> Settings -> Networks -> "Turn on VPN when the computer starts"
Then check for the issue again.
Keep us posted.
Why doesn't AVG VPN connect automatically when I turn on my computer? I have to go to it and turn it on manually.
I have the same issue. It appears that I have everything set correctly as answered previously. I have decided top Activate Kill Switch until it is resolved.
Glad to know that, Jeff. Thank you for updating the status. Have a great day. Stay safe!
Please check & let us know if you've tried the below steps :
Open AVG SVPN > Menu > Settings > Network Security > check "Automatically when connected to the internet"
Also, ensure that 'Exclude trusted networks' isn't enabled, if you're connected through a private network.
I have checked it all, and "Turn on VPN when the computer starts" is turned on. I restarted and I still had to turn on VPN manually.
Teri
We're glad to know that, Therese. Let us clarify this for you.
If you're connected to a trusted network (home, personal), then the network profile is private. It will be public when you're connected to public wifi (hotel, airport, cafe, etc). Hence, Secure VPN will not be launched automatically, if you're connected to private network or if 'exclude trusted network' is enabled.
Kill switch doesn't interfere with this, as it helps us to maintain the privacy/real location unrevealed, during network interruptions.
Thank you for your understanding in advance.
