After an 'upgrade' AVG VPN is blocked and asks that a subscription be taken out when the licence has still got 106 days to go before renewal. Its useless like this - any suggestions?

It seems the program is not yet activated. Refer this article and follow the steps as mentioned under "AVG MyAccount" category for activation.
