I'm afraid switching off WiFi and going online via mobile data has made no difference. I'm sending you some screenshots of configurations I work with and the error message I finally get.

whenever I start AVG VPN on my mobile the screen goes from "synchronizing" to "OFF" and the button freezes there. Occasionally, when setting is "Always-on" the replay button has no effect, it only moves to OFF and displays the message "You paused your auto-connect for current network"
this has been going on for a week or so, no amount of re-installing the app or restarting the device makes a difference. re-installing did the trick when I first had this problem a month ago
