Thanks in advance.

My original discussion with your support team was a few years back and, at that time, I had a support contract with AVG.  Contact with my email provider Ntlworld was a problem which went away when I stopped AVG VPN.  Similarly I was having login problems to some secure sites such as my bank.   When I was advised by members of AVG support team that they could not do anything because it was a bought-in product I resolved not to renew the VPN product at the end of my contract period having then found that the Opera browser gave me the same protection without your AVG’s system issues.

However, being bombarded with messages within AVG such as “Anyone can see what you are doing online” on the first screen of AVG and then when you select resolve “we have found 4 privacy issues”.  Then once you have done a scan the last section is Privacy Risks which again becomes a selling message for AVG VPN which says today that my location of “Watford as my real world location” which for your benefit is absolute nonsense!

You need an option to bypass these sales messages to allow users like myself who have taken other methods to protect themselves.  Otherwise, the option we can take is to change away from AVG – an option that I have fought against as I have been a user (both as domestic user and as a company owner of my software house) of AVG from its early days.

Thankyou Screenu
Have gone into the settings within AVG Internet Security and unchecked the two options as advised.  The pop-up in the first screen of AVG has gone (well done!) but the pop-ups in the Privacy section of the Smart Scan still remain.
I don't understand your comment re performance issues - I have not complained about this.  I have AVG TuneUp but have not set it to automatic tuning as this certainly slows the system down,   I don't use AVG Driver Updater but use CCleaner Professional a part of which does the job and is significantly more cost beneficial as it has a multi-system licence option.    Peter

Is anyone else getting fed up with constant messages to buy AVG VPN.

I used AVG VPN for a number of years but had trouble with my email provider and logging on with some suppliers (e.g. my bank). Logged a call with AVG support and was told that they could not help as the VPN was a bought-in module.

Changed my browser to Opera that has a built in VPN and no similar problems.

Hi William,

We apologize for the inconvenience caused to you.

The performance or privacy issues or outdated drivers which are showing at the end of AVG Secure VPN or at the bottom of AVG Secure VPN program are an actual issues found on your PC but those issues can be fixed by AVG Secure VPN, AVG TuneUp and AVG Driver Updater respectively. The issues listed can be fixed by those two programs so if you want to purchase those programs, please click on resolve now, it will be redirected to purchase page or if you do not wish to purchase it, just click on "skip for now' and skip those campaign pop-ups.

Performance issues is related to AVG TuneUp, privacy issues is related to AVG Secure VPN and outdated drivers is related to AVG Driver Updater. Each AVG program is designed for different purposes and functionality. AVG Internet Security is protection software which will protect your PC from malware and hacker attacks and give complete protection to your PC.

AVG program can only find the issues(performance, privacy and outdated drivers) other than security issues but those can be fixed only by other AVG programs, that is why it redirects to purchase page when you click on resolve now option.
To disable AVG pop-ups, please follow the below steps:

1. Open AVG Secure VPN
2. Click on Menu option at the top right corner
3. Then click Settings > General > Personal Privacy and uncheck the below options
a. Share app-usage data with AVG so we may offer you upgrades or our other products
b. Share app-usage data with AVG so we may offer you 3rd product products
4. Then close AVG Secure VPN program and reopen it. Those pop-ups will be disappeared.
Thank you and please keep us updated.

We appreciate your effort, William.

Thank you for sharing the screenshot, William.

The AVG Internet Security is designed in such a way that it will keep scanning for potential vulnerabilities in your computer.
Regrattably, the "Privacy Risks" cannot be disabled/excluded from the AVG scan. We request you to click on the "Skip for now" button to close this window.
Thank you for understanding in advance!
