I have the same issue with this VPN only. 289 Mbps download without, 11.52 Mbps download with. That's actually ridiculous, and a complete joke to call this "Expected Behavior". It's always nice to see the scripted answers to issues, though…Thank you for that.

It is an expected behavior as you may experience a slower internet connection when using AVG Secure VPN. This is because VPN encrypts traffic and data before sending it to a server. Depending on the distance and capacity of the server, this process may cause a slightly slower, but safer, internet connection.
Also, I suggest you to try connecting to different optimal servers and monitor the internet speed.

I have a question regarding my internet download speed with and without my AVG VPN connected.
With my VPN disconnected my average download speed over 3 separate speed tests was 324.8 Mbps.
With VPN connected my average download speed over 3 separate speed tests was only 64.6 Mbps.
Why is their such an extreme drop in internet speed with VPN running? Is it possible I have some sort of configuration or settings problem?

This isn't the experience we want you to have. As informed by our colleague, it is the usual behavior of AVG Secure VPN. However, you can attempt to connect to different servers (locations) in Secure VPN to identify the server that provides better connectivity. Thank you for your understanding in advance!
