I am experiencing the same issues. It was quite recent and making life hell. I can add exceptions until I am blue in the face and nothing but issues. If I turn off Web Shield it is better. The link above for article BTW takes you no where. I do require assistance as this is making work impossible. Not super comfy leaving the web shield turned off.
Hello Tony,
We regret the inconvenience this has caused you. This isn't the usual behaviour of AVG Internet Security & it recently hasn't been reported by many users.
Firstly, please temporarily disable the individual shields/components of your AVG Internet Security one by one & check which shield/component is causing the issue.
Refer to this article for detailed instructions to temporarily disable the individual shields/components of your AVG Internet Security.

Hello,
as of yesterday I cannot visit any webpage on chrome or firefox. (AVG browser seems t be working fine).
I always get an SSL error.
Either ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR on chrome or SSL_ERROR_BAD_MAC_READ on firefox.
If I disable web shield, everything works.
Found several threads on this topic, but all at least a year old.
Is this happening to more people? Is this reported?
