Avg web tuneup removal

Hi:
I have Windows 8.1, Firefox browser.
I did a scan and it showed a "PUP" related to AVG Web Tuneup. I have never downloaded or was give the option to download that program at initial AVG installation. It appears AVG just took it upon themselves to install it on my computer without my permission. Let's move on. I can not remove it using add/remove in control panel because it does not appear there. It only appears in C:\program files. How do I uninstall this and all it's left overs completely out of my computer without uninstalling AVG?

I don't have that FF extension in my add-ons or plugins. As I said earlier, I don't remember having ever installed that program. I tried to delete the folder in program files but says that I need permission from Dean\jim hebert which is me. IHow do I get permission? If I do eventually succeed in deleting it from Program file, is there a possibility that it will remove other registry files that are needed for my computer to function properly?

Hello Jim,
We are sorry to know that. To give permission for this folder, please follow this steps:
*  Right-click the file or folder you want to work with.
*  From the pop-up menu, select Properties, and then in the Properties dialog box click the Security tab
* Under your name, select edit and give full permission for that folder.
After which you will be able to remove this folder,
Thank you

When I go to Program Files and try to delete it asks for permission from “DEAN\JimHebert”.  I tried to “add” that to user name in the properties/security window and it return printed “jim hebert (bl……..@yahoo.com)” with my full e-mail appearing in the brackets. After that I checked “full control” and apply and OK. I then tried to delete again and it still does the same thing.

Hello Jim,
We are sorry to know that. In this case, we suggest you to restart the computer in safe mode with networking and see if you are able to remove the AVG program http://avgclick.me/rebootintosafemode.
Thank you

Hello Jim,
We are sorry to know that. The AVG Web TuneUp will be installed as a extension. You must have got an prompt to install this extension after the installation of AVG Protection. You can uninstall this from your browser. Please open the browser you have and go to the add ons or extension, you can see the AVG Web TuneUp, remove the same from there and then you will be able to remove th AVG Web TuneUp folders as well.
Thank you
