AVG won't install on my MacBook air running High Sierra

Do you have any other security program or older traces of AVG installed on your mac computer?

Install AVG AntiVirus for Mac from this link http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-download-and-install-AVG-AntiVirus-for-Mac and check if you are able to complete the installation.

Please can you help me. AVG gets to near the end of the install but after downloading virus definitions and running package scripts, it says:

"The installation failed.  The installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance."

Assistance will be greatly appreciated.
