Hello, Mony.
We regret to hear that you are experiencing this. Please check if "AVG Installer.exe" is running under 'Processes' tab in the task manager and end it. If there are multiple instances, end all of them and reboot your PC once. Then try to update AVG and it should work.

For the last few days, my AVG anti virus won't update Virus Definitions.

When I click on "Update Now" it says" Last encountered error: Setup is already running.

however nothing is happening and my virus definitions are still out of date.

What to do ?

Thanks for your reply.

Unfortunately, i'm not able to end the tasks (I have multiple instances) in task manager. When I click on End Task, there's nothing happening.

A PC restart must end the running processes. Please try it and let us know the status.
