I tried to run the AVG remover multiple times last night and AVG wasn't showing as running but the program icon was still listed as active and if I try to delete it it says I can't delete AVG Zen without first uninstalling AVG PC Tuneup (which can't be found anywhere). I will try again this afternoon and follow your instructions to the letter. The computer I am working on does not restart automatically after running the download tool and in fact it is hard to tell if the tool has finished as there is just a dos prompt box and nothing that states it has finished.
I will try again and take screen shots this time so you can see exactly what it says. Thank you so very much.
Please help. I have been a customer of AVG for many many years and recommend this product for anyone that asks. I have a problem. I am working on a computer with Windows 8.1 that has had AVG Free installed on it for several months and all of a sudden 3 days ago a "pop up" started showing that stated the free trial is over and would shut the computer off. 1. I installed AVG Free so there was no trial period. 2.I have tried to uninstall with the AVG uninstall product and that does not work. Or it works partially (the AVG PC Tuneup is gone but not the other aspects of AVG Zen) 3. I have tried to reinstall AVG Zen but I get an error message saying the install failed 4. I have tried to repair the product but I also get an error message that the install failed or 5. On a few of the install/repair attempts the program would hang and do nothing for up to 15 minutes.
All I am trying to accomplish is to remove all traces of AVG and do a fresh install of AVG free. I still think this is the best product out there but have obviously found some sort of defect with the AVG Zen version.
Has anyone else experienced this? Can anyone provide step by step instructions for total removal of ALL AVG products from a Widows 8.1 laptop? I have run spybot s&d, mbam, CCleaner, cleared all browsers and everything I can think to do with nothing found and no results. Any tips/suggestions are greatly appreciated. I do not want to have to R & R this unit as it is only been used 2.5 months. Thank you.

If you try to download our AVG free antivirus from the website you will get only our latest AVG free protection multidevice Zen program downloaded.

- Your computer will be restarted automatically. After the restart, AVG Remover will finish the uninstallation.
NOTE: Once the AVG Remover Tool has done with its process. Please go to the C drive and look for a folder named as "AVG Remover" and I request you to delete it manually.
