AVG17 paid version in-app popup advertising

Hello John,
Thank you for reaching out to us with your concerns. I regret for any inconvenience caused to you. Many of our users find these offers useful. We handpick them from our own products or those of partners we feel can add to your security or digital experience. Please be informed that we are working on an update to improve your experience with AVG Marketing popups.
However, you can try changing the duration for AVG popups from the settings.

Open AVG interface, click on Menu–>Settings.
On General window, right side you can find Popups, please click on arrow next to it.
It will show you the option to setup duration for all popups.
Please setup duration "0" for information popups alone.

Also, do you receive any expiry notice from AVG Internet Security? If so, please share a screenshot ( http://avgclick.me/getscreenshot ) of AVG dashboard to assist you further.

I purchased AVG Internet Security 17.4.3014. It is a fine software with an unfortunate baggage of in-app advertising which is disruptive, and includes misleading 'fee trials'. I cannot find a way to turn it off. Please tell me how to turn off the popups so my software will be fully functional.

I purchased ANTIVIRUS protection, fully expecting it to run in the background unless attention to a threat was required. Please show me how to operate without unsolicited commercial messages, so I may avoid uninstalling my AVG product and purchasing A-V software from one of your competitors. Rumor has it that many of your customers have already switched - just to avoid your in-app SPAM.

AVG's failure to give paying customers a way to opt out of the popups is a stupid business decision.
