Never mind, both attempts [send] didn't get past my firewall , as it should, without going into learning mode.
On the other hand, I'm not sure I'm that comfortable with others knowing that much about my machine.
Well, someone should tell the coders that , like three or four versions ago, that the link scanner is acting up again. Causes any browser to stall and sometimes locking up the computer.
I solved it for myself by simply turning off the web component for places that are familiar territory, and when going to unfamiliar territory switching it back on again, then off, when that task is completed.
It is as if the Link scanner doesn't know when to quit or 'release' when preceding [I assume] a persons chosen web site. True, in my use I keep a number of tabs{14} always open in Firefox and four or five in Opera, to speed up the things I do. In AVGs current state it slows down operation of an otherwise fast machine. Most likely, as it just keeps scanning 'down range' when it no longer needs to.
I came to my own solution after doing a web search and found people/posters of various skill levels were experiencing the same thing. In most cases the problem was traced to A-V suites' link scanners
{irregardless of brand name} causing the performance drag, hence to relieve the condition, turn link scanners off.
So, anyone here with a line to the programmers, give them the heads up, it probably just needs a line or two relation to the duration of time[in µSeconds] that the scanner checks the URLs.
A similar thing occurs in Thunderbird, but only at start-up and I know that the email scanner has the job of checking several hosts, all of which want to download POP3 at the same time.
