Hi Avinash,
Thanks for your follow up.
My Processor is a X86 Family 6 Model 8 Stepping 10 GenuineIntel "930Mhz
Bios is ACER V4.0 R01-F0 EN-JA March 28 2001 SM Bios 2.3
Its a Pentium 3 Made by ACER.
Since SSE2 was introduced with Pentium 4, I guess that rules out using SSE2 on my computer. That is ok but maybe your Marketing/Sales people should have made it clear that SSE2 is required or else your developers could have introduced an automatic reversion to SSE instruction set if SSE2 not supported. I think that would make the support task less onerous and keep your clients happier. Thanks for the attempts of support staff to help, if you have another way of getting my purchase to load and run, please let me know.
It seems your developers may have underestimated how many old computers are still running bug free ?
Regards, Jim Alexander

I have been a satisfied user of AVG product since 2009 but that has changed with my latest purchase (see order list below). My problem started When I did a normal update to my 2015 version late last week and after the update, errors appeared headed by "Could not finish automatic state repair" and listed 1,Identity protection disabled. 2,Computer Protection Anti Virus Resident Shield not active. 3,Web browsing partially functional.

These seemed like serious problems so I phoned and chatted online with support over many hours on several days. The net result of all this wasted time is that support told me I needed the latest version to fix my problem and got me to purchase a licence for Internet Security 2016. I was told to remove my existing version of AVG so the latest version would load. After removing all my protection, the new download programs fail to work, consistently failing with error code 0xc007001d. The code surely has a meaning but God knows what. After some research it seems the original errors on my previously installed system were more likely marketing tactics rather than actual errors since the problem has been known to users and no doubt support since last year.

I am now left with the latest version of Internet Security which is unuseable because it cannot be downloaded and no protection. In desperation I hunted around and found a 2015 free download version of AntiVirus which I successfully downloaded but this is a temporary fix which also shows the same error/marketing messages as my purchased version. It seems to me that the developers of the latest version have ignored the very many of us using old computers on Win XP and provided your support team with a mission impossible. Can someone in authority please address this issue and give me some feedback which works.

Hello Jim.
Thank you for contacting us. Could you please let me know which model of Processor are you using on your XP PC? Please note that your processor must support the SSE2 instruction set to successfully download and install AVG 2016. The error code 0xc007001d says that too. Thank you.
