Avgcsrva.exe multiple process after scanning USB devices that don't exist

In order to analyze it please provide us with diagnostic output (run it after inducing described behavior) using this tool and please add detailed description of issue.

This problem is becoming very annoying, not to mention frustrating that it is consuming system resources needlessly. Periodically, AVG "detects" USB devices being connected that are not being connected, and the tray notificications pop up; several of them in rapid succession. A check of task manager will then show multiple instances of the process avgcsrva.exe; I've counted as high as 22 of them. Please advise if there is a fix for this; if not, I will be changing products. Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.
