Sorry. It doesnt work at all !
3 times I tried de-install by control panel programs and features.
- two times re-install by online option AVG antivirus free
- one time by offline option.
result all the same.
The program seems to work but broadly shows on top of the main menu besides AVG Antivirus free a label "upgrade"
Below always the lines "Your AVG Antivirus free has expired. please choose an option for the upcoming year."
I still use win 7prof, 64bit.
It will be the last and final version I decided to bother with from Microsoft.
Now I got the additional problem to get into my providers mailserver.
I*m definitely getting tired of that waste of time.
Being increasingly bothered with advertising pop-up upgrade and nonsense "warning" intrusions and now even that obstruction.
For many years it worked and I could concentrate an my work without any trouble - not being obstructed.
Please advise how to REALLY and definitely solve that annoyance.

I request you to uninstall and reinstall the AVG Free to continue using it without any issues.
Hi, I am in the exact same problem. The AVG keeps telling me in my language that it's expired, to choose the protection for the upcoming year and I don't know what to do.
Since April I got surprising "offers" to upgrade my AVGfree AV after updating regularly the installed AVGfree AV as usual.
I have used AVGfree AV on my private PCs for many years satisfied, happily, without any problems and no need for more.
About a week ago suddenly I got notified "your free AVG has expired please choose protection for upcoming year" but no option to continue free AVG. Even de- and new install of latest AVG free AV doesn't help.
I don't need more options than AVGfree offers.
Nowhere for AVGfree any time restriction is or was mentioned or happened to me or frineds I recommend it.
Please advise how to continue my AVGfree !
