Hi Luke,
Sorry to hear that, Bruce is right try rename AVG Files, you can use any LIVE CD.
If it doesn't help you, I recommend backup data (from live CD or in different PC) format HDD and Install Windows from scratch.
Thanks

Ahh yes, I also forgot to mention that the AVG Rescue CD didn't work for me either (when I tried it both on a CD and a USB)

I've seen loads of different forum posts offering different 'fixes' for this error, but none seem to work.

The power cut out at my apartment and now my PC won't go past the 'Starting Windows' logo screen. After trying to start up in safe mode, it gets stuck when it tries to load the AVGISDHA.sys driver.

I've tried using Last Known Good Configuration - still doesn't go past the loading screen

Tried using system restore - still doesn't go past the loading screen

I've tried re-installing the OS - still doesn't go past the loading screen (even though it loads the files when I try to make it boot from the CD)

I've tried renaming the driver name and file to try and bypass it, but when I try to use Command Prompt it just takes me straight back to the loading screen I get stuck on.

Nothing on the BIOS seems to change anything and I don't know what to do now.

It's a brand new PC as of 2 weeks ago and the kit inside it is good quality.

Anyone got any ideas?

OK Luke, When I saw you'd seen loads of different forum posts & been renaming I thought you'd also probably be aware of the AVG Rescue CD. Whilst waiting for the AVG Community Support expert you might want to explore this avenue?.. Have a look @ this new form link (https://support.avg.com/support_contact_form) to get email/chat/phone support.
