Avglogx.sys BSOD

Hello Alan,
Thank you for the information. It seems that you are using Windows 10 recovery disc which is something else than the installation disc. Please follow this link https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/windows10 to create it.
Thank you

Once again, I have already told you that the machine will not boot to windows from the original installation Win 7 disc- that just produces the BSOD message, or with a new recovery disc of Win 10 from another machine. That produces a "non system disc" message.

and it might help you to know that this machine went wrong inearly June. Initially it gave a POST error, which I took to be terminal. It was only when I tried to boot it before dumping it that the BSOD showed - I guess Win. 10 tried a cure.

Hello Alan,

We are sorry for the inconvenience caused.
Have you tried booting your PC into Safe mode once?

Hello Alan,

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused.
We kindly request you to contact Microsoft support or the local technician to recover the PC.
Thank you.

My Dell /Windows 10 (upgrade from Win 7) has a BSOD blaming avglogx.sys - error Oxc000007b. All diagnostics say the machine is mechanically fine. Your AVG repair CD download runs but does not cure the problem - it finds no "bad" files, so fails back to the BSOD. The original Dell Installation disc does not boot giving the same BSOD error, while a Win 10 recovery disc (from another machine) fails quoting "non system disc". You advised that I, using file manager on the recovery disc, rename all avg files to "old". This I have done BUT 3 files - avgld86.sys, avglogx.sys (the one that causes the trouble) and avgrk86.sys are shown in red and cannot be deleted or renamed. File manager gives an error "Cannot stat - input / output error". These 3 files are dated 1/1/1970. So the BSOD returns.

What to do now?

Sorry. I did mention earlier that the PC does not boot into Windows from ANY "Safe" mode.

Sadly, I misdescribed the disc I tried before. Nevertheless, I did do as you suggested and created a new Win 10 disc. This did not work - still the BSOD quoting avgboot as missing. I went back in via the AVg rescue disc and renamed avgboot as "sys", Now I still have a BSOD, but the system is failing because avglogx.sys is missing or corrupted ( still shown in red within Midnight Commander.) Clearly the answer is to stop the boot file from running avg. But how? Clearly, you would not want this to happen, but surely there must be a recovery somwewhere?

Hello Alan,
We are sorry to know that you are unable to get into safe mode as well. In this case, we suggest you to try Windows repair from the Windows installation disc/USB drive and see if that fix this BSOD error.
Thank you
