Ron, Re your 1st posting when removing AVG did you use the appropriate either 32 or 64bit remover whichever suits your system (http://www.avg.com/ww-en/utilities) [Scroll Down].

Sorry for the late answer, didn't recieve an email that anything had been posted. The analysis program ran for over 1 hour and never finished. Hard disk light had basically stopped flashing and no CPU was being used, so I stopped it.
I have the same problem with a Vista PC, when trying to install AVG Free 2015. Had no problems installing AVG Free 2014 a year ago.
Failed to install the product. AVGMSI_Error27046 Driver installation failed 0xC007001C.
Have removed and reinstalled multiple times, still receive the same message.
I tried all you suggested in http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=Code-0xC0070643-or-0xC007001C-when-installing-AVG and the installation still fails as before. I installed AVG 2014 Free last year on this Vista PC, and another Vista PC with no problems, and AVG 2014 (purchase) on a Windows 7 PC last year as well. No problems with any of them. AVG 2015 installation needs to be fixed please.
