Hello David,
I understand your concern. AVGSvc.exe file is an important AVG file which works in your computer background and monitors application behavior. Please run AVG repair avgclick.me/RepairAVG from your computer control panel and check if that fix this issue.

AVG upgraded is software today and the new program started using substantial resources (1/4 of total memory, >50% of CPU). I tried repairing the program as described above and restarting but saw no improvement. I might have to de-install and look for another anti-virus software program.
Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 x64
AVG Anti-Virus Free 17.7.3032
Lately, my PC runs very sluggishly when I boot. I see AVGSvc.exe consuming as much as 25% of my CPU resource. What is AVGSvc.exe? What can I do to stop this?
That did indeed seem to resolve my problem. Thanks.
OK David, No probs… Pleased to see that you appear to be now sorted. Thanks for returning to the Community & posting.
