AVGSVC.exe using 50%+ CPU

Do you have any other security program installed on your computer?

Does the process of AVG always stay at +50% usage or it occurs only at a particular instance?

Currently running AG Internet Security 18.7.3069 (build 18.7.4041.0) Virus Definition Version: 191119-2 32-Bit on Windows 7 SP1. AVGSVC.EXE process in using 50%+ CPU and CPU fan is howling. Process is using very few resources except for excessive CPU Cycles and I/O Other. Have repaired, uninstalled and re-installed AVG and disabled Self-protection, but problem still persists. Have found and reviewed numerous web searches referring to this issue, so does seem a known problem,. Any clues guys?
