Avgsvca.exe service is connecting to unknown IP address

Hello Mojahed.
It is legit communication, related to checking if AVG update is available. Thank you.

Is this why Options\Advanced Settings\Schedules\Definition Update Schedule no longer allows any changes (other than Disable)?

Incidentally, when did an immediate, unscheduled update become so important that an ESTABLISHED connection (per TCPview) is required? Can't my computer have a LISTENING connection with the same effect?

Finally, no one answered the most important "Is that service safe or not?" question.

Hi,

While monitoring the traffic going out of my computer i found the following service (avgsvca.exe) connecting to an unknown IP (212.4.153.171), which look like a dynamic IP address located at Czech Republic.

Could you please explain why would Avg make live connection to my PC every time I connect to the internt?
Is that service safe or not?

Hello Neil,

We do understand your concern.
Yes, this is 100% safe.
Please be informed that on Options\Advanced Settings\Schedules\Definition Update Schedule, to the right you can find the check box at the top named as "ENABLE THIS TASK" only if you check the check box you will get the options to schedule and set the time for it.
If you had got any error while updating then it doesn't mean that it is due to these settings, a repair installation of the AVG should fix your update issue.
To perform repair installation of AVG, please follow the instructions mentioned in this link: http://avgread.me/1BVxDSY and perform the update and you should get the message as Update successful, if not please do report it to us.
