Hi,
I'm web developer and I have web server running on port 80. Is there any option to change port AVG is using?
J.
First off, it is really stupid that this is even an issue. AVG should not be taking over port 80. It is sneaky and making people feel like they didnt install crap right.
However, quick fix, disable avg, run whatever needs port 80, restart avg.
Not sure if this will keep being a fix or what issues this may provide for avg or other services. IF IT DOES CAUSE AN ISSUE, maybe AVG should have an alternate port option. Most services do.
For a company that claims to be one of the top for security, I find it hard to believe that this is not doable. I figured a security company would be a master of connection ports and such.
Incredible. You assume that you can use port 80 on user computer only for your product?!
This port is commonly used for different purposes; web services, skype…
You cannot do like that!
So bye, bye with your product - I will not use anymore.
Yes, we knew that port 80 is the common one and we cannot change it, sorry should have explained that in my previous post.

Hello John,
We certainly understand your concern.
Could you please let us know why would you like to change the port through which AVG update service connects to the internet?
So bye, bye with your product - I will not use anymore.
