To resolve the issue, we suggest you to uninstall old 'Microsoft visual C++ 2012 x64 and x86' from your computer's 'Control Panel' list of installed programs and then remove AVG traces using remover tool( http://aa-download.avg.com/filedir/util/AVG_Remover.exe ). Please restart to complete the uninstalling process. After restarting your computer, you may need to manually uninstall any remaining AVG applications and also 'search' for a folder "AVG Remover"(usually in 'C' drive) and please delete it manually. And then Download and install the Visual C++ Redistributable package from  http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30679 .Restart your computer, and then install AVG Antivirus Free by clicking on  http://files-download.avg.com/inst/mp/AVG_Antivirus_Free_692.exe .Thank you.

I started getting the about error on start up after a Windows10 upgrade.  Please can you provide a solution. I run the AVG antivirus free edition.

Yes, I followed the instructions I was given, this is the error message which is the same message I was receieving before the uninstall/reinstall.

Hi, I did as you suggested and I am still getting the same error.  I downloaded the 86 version of visual c as I have a 32 bit pc.  Please can you assist further.

If the issue still persists after reinstall, we suggest you to run the sysinfo tool to collect the error log from your computer and our senior support will check the logs and provide you a best solution. We have emailed you the steps to run the sysinfo to your email address registered with AVG.
