I request you to try repair of AVG Antivirus free as mentioned in this article: http://avgread.me/1BVxDSY and check whether you are able to access the interface.
Please be informed that the schedule scan is also available in free version.
If the AVG Antivirus free dashboard is accessible then please click on gear icon which is near "Scan Computer" button.
On the scan settings bottom right corner you can find the option for schedule scan.
I am running Windows XP and have been using AVG Basic for a while.I downloaded the latest version yesterday following a prompt and since then I keep getting the "AVGUIX.EXE FAILED' message just after I start PC.
Also, I appear to have no facility to schedule a scan - When I go to 'Start Scan' all I get is a screen telling me to purchase AVG products. I used to be able to schedule a scan, see it's progress and see what had been quarantined etc but cannot do so any more.
Be most grateful for some assistance.
