Being denied on sites

I have the same problem with a small number of sites - error 406 - for example this one: https://www.officeworks.com.au/, which is a retail outlet I use a lot.

There is no option, like the Trusted networks option in Settings, that would allow the user to list Trusted web sites so this problem could be circumnavigated without turning off Secure VPN every time.

Is there any reason why AVG can't instigate this feature?

Hello Barb,

We will check and help you.

We need to check whether AVG Secure VPN blocking the access. First, please just turn off the AVG Secure VPN and check whether you can access locate sites.

Also, please change the location in AVG Secure VPN and check for it. Keep us updated.

When I try to log on to local sites I am denied access. Is this due to VPN which can show me in a different state or country? If so, is there a way to  turn off the VPN for certain sites?

Facing the same problem on https://besttoasterovenguides.com/ (https://besttoasterovenguides.com/)can someone help me please?

Veeramani Sivakumar, could you tell me how I can turn it off please.

Thanks,
Barb

Hi Harry,

We're glad to clarify this for you.
From your message, we see that you're experiencing the geolocation restriction on the site.
We do have a feature to exclude selected server from AVG Secure VPN.
Please try the above step & let us know if it helps. For further queries, we request you to write back to us in your own post.

Thank you for understanding in advance!

I did everything the referenced section suggested, but when I tried the final step (route -p -4 …), I received the message that my status had to be elevated to carry out this command.

How do I become "elevated" in this context?

Surely all this palaver should be unnecessary for the user. Can't it be built in the AVG Secure Browser as a function in Settings?

All this should be unnecessary for the user. I shouldn't have to go through all this rigmarole every time I come across a web site that doesn't allow access.

(1) I know there's no option at present. I am requesting AVG to create that option. Without it (and considering other complaints people have), Secure Browser is just not worth the effort, so I will be unsubscribing from it.

(2) You didn't address my other question, which asks why the route command that you advised me to use doesn't work when I am logged in as administrator.

There's no need to reply to this post as it's simply a copy of my other post for Barbara's benefit.

Barb, I am afraid it is currently not an option to except particular websites through VPN?
Open AVG Secure VPN, turn off the VPN connection and check if that resolves the issue.
If the issue is resolved, I'd request you to click 'Change location', connect to a different VPN server at another location and verify the issue.
