"Blocked by other app"

Greetings,
My AVG Antivirus (dashboard) reads that my VPN protection is being blocked by another app?  Upon escape I enter into app AVG Secure VPN where it's confirmed that I'm protected.  Is the AVG Secure VPN the app blocking the app AVG Antivirus from confirming that AVG Secure VPN is indeed operating? A wee bit confusing.  My apologize.

As we're uncertain about the message that you receive in AVG dashboard, would you be so kind to share us the screenshot of it for better clarity?
Also, upon checking your account, we're unable to find Secure VPN subscription. If you've used a different email address, provide it through the email which has been sent to you.

We assumed, you were referring to Windows. Thank you for letting us know that the purchase was done through Google Play Store.

Yes, The message you get related to VPN is the correct one.

AVG VPN for Android can be accessed either from AVG AntiVirus app or from standardalone AVG VPN app. If you enable VPN from one app, you would get the message "blocked by other app" when trying to access VPN from second app. This is just the standard display message and you can ignore it.

I'll try and paint the picture one more time:  From AVG I have two apps: AVG AntiVirus Ultimate and AVG Secure VPN.  AVG AntiVirus Ultimate allows me to activate VPN protection, but when I click "connect to VPN" it states on the dashboard that the VPN Protection is "Blocked by other app." 

Meanwhile, entering into the other app: AVG Secure VPN - it confirms that I have VPN protection and it's working accordingly.  Note: I purchased both apps from Google Play and received an access code from AVG upon purchase.  I'll forward to you my access code via email to confirm.
