Hello Patricia,
Let us check whether the problem is due to AVG program.
We request you to open AVG Internet Security program window and click on "email & web" component.
Turn off each component and check whether you are able to receive the emails.
Keep us apprised about the status.
I do not understand how I can send a message from one of the blocked domains. Can you send one from this domain: shutterfly@e.shutterfly.com. However, I don’t think it is an AVG problem. After following your recommended test, I registered for a class and should have received a confirmation. I have not received it, which seems to indicate it’s a Comcast issue.
Unless you advise differently, I will switch the Webb and email protection settings back to ON.
Thank you.

As of Nov. 1, 2019, I have ceased getting emails from a list of legitimate domains, mostly either no-reply or mailing lists. Emails from individual people and financial sources have continued. I have double checked my communication settings on websites of many of the blocked domains and some but not all have resumed. problems are now becoming more serious. I just received a letter from my health insurance that alerts from them are being blocked. I have had multiple conversations with Comcast, the latest yesterday when they said they would move it to a higher priority. The AVG Virus Vault on the Comcast/Xfinity email is empty. None of my inbox prior to Nov. 1 is visible on comcast email site, which I rarely visit. Older ones are only visible on my Ipad and Outlook on Dell desktop. I get AVG virus protection and tune-up, the latter of which I let lapse from Oct. 2, 2019 until late January, when I renewed tune-up.
I have turned off email and web security and will see what email I receive in the next few days. However, I have had the security for a few years and do not understand why this just started happening on November 1, 2019.
I will reply again if and if and when I receive an email from a blocked domain.
thank you.

Patricia, we are unsure too on why this is happening.
If it is confirmed that AVG Internet Security component is the reason then we can provide further troubleshooting.
You can now send a test email and check whether you are able to receive it.
Thank you for replying, Pat.
Yes, this issue shouldn't be caused by AVG. We suggest you to contact Comcast for further assistance.
