On Sunday, AVG flagged one of my exe files as a malware threat. I had my security team member check my laptop and my files on Monday and confirmed everything was okay. I did not put the file in quarantine but rebooted my machine. Once it came up then my app's exe file was gone. I have tried everything to get my app to work. Uninstalled and reinstalled - the exe file is there but it wont start up (there is no error). AVG did not have any quarantined files, we added the app into the 'allow apps' but that didn't help. We have ended up removing AVG now but still no luck. Does AVG put some kind of blocker on it to prevent it from starting up? Thank you

If you do not, please remove all traces of your app and AVG manually from the hard disk, reboot your PC and then try reinstalling the app.
Thanks. I have removed the app and AVG, rebooted and still experiencingt the issue. Is there a folder / log or something I can check for to see if AVG is somehow preventing the app from starting?
Janet, we can assure you that this is not due to AVG as you have reinstalled the particular .exe application.
It should have worked after re-installation.
