Hello Paul,
We are sorry for the inconvenience caused. This is a known issue. We have already reported it to developers they are working on the fix.
Could you please restart the PC twice and check whether you can open and access Internet when the AVG Internet Security program active?
We look forward for your response.
I have the same problem as of 2-4-2021. I posted it but there is an option only to find MY POSTS but not to find other posts that I have made… it would help so we don't keep feeding other threads.
There was a solution on it to use AVG Clear to remove AVG and reinstall.
I have the same problem and this is happened two days ago when I took up an 'early renewal offer'. 19 of September 2021. Exactly as you describe I was being denied access to the internet all I could do was turn off Web & Email. I can't turn it on again or I lose acess to the internet. I can't be bothered contacting support and doing all that run-around to get it sorted to be honest. I'll just suffer the risk. Part of me feels a bit duped if I have to pay for beta-testing and not get paid for all the diagnostics that should already be done before I get the software. Simply put; My AVG was working fine. I paid money for an early renewal; then no internet! Doesn't make any sense to me. If a mechanic did that to your car you'd be rightly upset.
Hello Brendan,
We sincerely apologize for the difficulties you are currently experiencing.
We assure you that renewing your AVG Subscription using an early renewal offer would not cause this issue.
We will certainly investigate and help you to resolve it.
We request you to create a separate AVG community post by clicking the link below and post your questions in your own post, so we will check with your AVG account and help you with additional support.

Thank you for your understanding.
Got on my computer at 9pm 2/4/21 to find all internet access blocked. Browsers, Steam and AVG no connection. Browsers reported DNS server error. After disabling AVG entirely, boom full connectivity. I was able to re-enable AVG feature by feature. I've got everything enabled and working accept Web Shield. Enabling Web Shield causes the problem. I would note that auto updates is enabled and AVG did perform a auto update when I turned it on.

Hello All,
Our team has released the update for it. To resolve the issue, we recommend that you first restart your PC two times (waiting up to 5 minutes between restarts). During the restarts, AVG should update automatically to fix the issue.
If, the issue persists, please follow this article :Troubleshooting internet disconnection and the UI failed to load error in AVG AntiVirus on Windows (https://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?l=en&urlName=Troubleshoot-AVG-AntiVirus-internet-disconnection&supportType=home)

Done a lot of tests to figure out the cause. I initially thought the internet was down, but Alexa was still responsive. I rebooted everything router, computer and modem. I then disabled all my start up programs and re enabled them one by one with restarts after each. When I got to AVG the issue restarted. I then disabled AVG again and restarted. After that I opened AVG and started re-enabling functions restarting if they were stable. Restarting Web and Email instantly caused the problem. So I restarted, disabled it again and restarted. I then moved on to the other functions Hacker Attacks, Privacy and Payments. I was able to get each running and restart with no problems. I went back to Web and Email. Enabling Web Shield immediately caused the problem. So restart, disable and restart. Problem fixed. I then enabled the Email Shield, no problem.
So I got on your website and posted. It was more to get the issue out and inform people of the easy fix so they didn't have to spend the 2 hrs tracking it down I did.
