The problem is last Antitrack update. Lots and lots of users are having the same problem. Same for me.
And AVG people here... are sending instructions via email, instead of posting the solution HERE. It seems to be so secret stuff!!!! LOL
And much better if they released another update, fixing this problem once and for all. But they don't ;)
Meanwhile... just:
- Uncheck "run antitrack at windows start" on the antitrack options (for not having to do the next 2 steps each time you turn on your computer)
- Close antitrack from the system tray
- Kill "avgantitrackfilter.exe" proccess in the task manager
DONE. You will have your internet connection working perfectly again.
And the MOST IMPORTANT step: DEMAND AVG FOR REFUND, as they sold you a completely crappy software.
I have been having the same problem The new version of AVG Antitrack locks up CPU when open Facebook. Privacy Filter stops PC restart. I found that that the only solution is to kill the AVG Antitrack task. The new version has a problem with Facebook.
Since a couple of hours my Internet is blocked, regularly, most likely by the privacy app.
If I restart my computer, I have some minutes of Internet access, then it stops.
During shutoff, I get a message that an app is preventing shutoff.
What to do?

I also have a problem with antitracking blocking internet access. It seems to be when I click a notification in Facebook. Task managers shows cpu usage around 16%, most of it by AVG antitracking. Normally my Windows 10 system runs around 1 or 2% CPU usage when not doing anything heavy. I have no time to waste diagnosing it further so uninstalled AVG antitrachking and the problem has gone away.
This has been happening to me today. The only way to get back online is to open task manager, AVG Anti Track is using the mosr resources. Select and End task gets you back online

Hello Stephen,
Could you please uninstall AVG Anti-track program once and check whether all sites and Internet working fine?
Then, we can try to rienstall AVG Anti-track and check it. Keep us updated. Thank you.
Hi all,
Same here!
I had to disable AntiTrack to use the tracking feature on the Royal Mail website in Chrome. It also has a high CPU usage.
I am glad and a bit dismayed that it is not only me. I wonder if AVG should have done a bit more testing before releasing it. Also, is there an option to revert to the old version before AVG gets that sorted?
Thanks!
Martin
