If Internet Security block the access of file sharing, we can fix this by settings up AVG Firewall system rules.
- Open the AVG Internet Security user interface and click the Hacker Attacks tile.
- Click Settings (the gear icon) in the top-right corner.
- Ensure Full protection ▸ Enhanced Firewall is selected in the left panel, then click System rules.
- Please choose Enabled option for Allow Windows File and Printer sharing
Please try the above steps and let us know if its help you. Thank you.
AVG Internet Security (IS) may be blocking Windows 10 File Sharing between two IS equipped Windows 10 computers. How do i determine that and then fix it if it's happening?
Appreciate your efforts in working towards fixing the issue, George.
Initially, we'd suggest you to disable Enhanced firewall in AVG to check if it is blocking the access.
To do so : Open AVG Internet Security - Hacker attacks - Click on the toggle bar in Firewall section to temporarily disable it.
If disabling it fixes the issue : Open AVG Internet Security - Menu - Settings - Full protection - Enhanced firewall - Enable 'Internet connection sharing' by checking it & let us know if it helps.
Thanks for the clues on where to find the information. I changed the pull down menus to ENABLE Windows File and Printer Sharing on one computer. The other was OK. Then, I rebooted both computers – still no joy. Is there any other magic?
