I have just started having this issue. I start a scan and the computer shuts down and gives me ablue screen error. "C000021A Fatal System Error Windoes logon process terminated unexpectantly/The system has been shut down." The computer fuctions as normal after reboot, but if I start a scan with AVG, within a couple of minutes the above occurs, please advise? Thank you

One more thing … I installed Malwarebytes and ran a scan. It came up with nothing wrong except for one thing that I know about that wouldn't have caused this problem [old toolbar installer]. I didn't run a rootkit scan as of yet with it.
Mine is an Asus, so the problem wouldn't appear to be specific to Dell. I see lots of dfifferent threads are appearing on this site that seem to relate to the same problem. I would imagine the Tech's at AVG are all over it and a fix will be available soon.

Mark, Thanks, so we are assuming that this is AVG malfunctioning? I do not have vires etc, all is good in the operating system, but since I updated trhis am and then started a scan, Bingo, blue screen.
Thanks, let me know if you hear anything.

Problem started yesterday as above. Spent hours trying to sort to no avail. Go into AVG account and it says I don't have an account - which is rubbish. Paid a two year terms. Is this just a marketing trick to make people pay again? Suggested I buy.
Has this situation been made Public yet? Gone viral?

Hi all … Today my AVG Internet Security 2015 updated and it appears that my issue has been corrected. I was able to run a succesful virus scan. No blue crash screens. Thank you AVG.
We are having the same problem. It started on two pc's yesterday morning at the same time. both blue screen in the morning shortly after they are turned on and logged in. I am assuming it crashes during the morning scan.
I removed avg and the problem went away. I'm guessing avg did an update that is not compatible with the latest version of XP or Microsoft released an XP security update that is not compatible with AVG.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
