Hi Joseph.
We're here to help. How did you narrow this down to AVG? Do you see any file related to AVG in the error message? Did you try to boot in safe mode? If you are able to boot in safe mode, uninstall AVG and boot back in normal mode.
Hi,
You cannot uninstall AVG in safe mode. You need to do the following:
1) boot in safe mode. Then do "windows + R". Type "msconfig" in the textbox, then OK.
2) Go to the 'General' tab and select 'Normal startup'
3) Go to the 'services' tab and uncheck all AVG services. Press OK and reboot normally.
4) Once you have reboot, go to the windows->settings->App & Features page and click on 'Programs and Features' below 'Related settings'. This should bring you the the 'Uninstall or change a program'
5) Uninstall AVG Internet Security. (For me the others AVG programs did not cause BSOD)
You will now be able to use your computer like before without having to reset Windows and without AVG Internet Security of couse until a fix is found.
Best regards
I just subscribed and was billed for AVG Internet Security on my new laptop Windows 10 and got a blue screen…"Your PC ran into a problem and needs to restart". Automatic Repair attempt failed. Than got option to Shut Down or Advanced Options: chose the latter to continue to Windows but problem persists. What do you recommend I do?
