I have been infected with this annoying virus.
Is there any way to remove it for unfortunately AVG Free does not see it and reports that my machine is clean.

May I know how did you confirm that your PC is infected with "Brit Method Virus" ?
Every time I open Google, it is the first page that opens.
From all my research it is a virus. There are several methods of removing it but I would have hoped that AVG should find and protect me.
