Brother scan feature killed by avg

We request you to follow the below steps and let us know the status.

  • Open the AVG Internet Security > Click on the Web & Email tile > Enhanced Firewall options > Network profiles > make sure your Wireless network and a wireless printer are selected as a private connection "I trust this network".
  • Please follow the steps mentioned in this article to configure the system rules and enable all the permission in a private connection.
  • Once it done, get back to the home screen and go to ☰ Menu ▸ Settings.
    Select Full protection ▸ Remote Access Shield in the left panel.
    Tick the box next to Block all connections except the following.
    Under Block all connections except the following, click Add.
    Enter a trusted IP address or IP range, then click Allow. Added connections appear below the Add button.

For years avg and brother have been compatible however sometime in the last few days avg killed the scan feature on my mfc l 2799 dw printer.  I now have the driver deleted and reinstalled, how do is keep this from happening again???
