Please reinstall https://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=Download-and-install-AVG-AntiVirus-Free AVG AntiVirus Free, disable each component individually and verify the issue.
To disable individual components, open AVG, click Menu -> Settings -> Basic features. Disable File shield, Behavior shield, and Web shield separately to verify the issue. If disabling basic features does not help, please click Full protection, disable AVG Firewall and AVG Ransom ware protection.
I recently installed a new solid state hard drive. I had to reinstall Windows. I also decided to use AVG free version antivirus as it was recommended to me. I installed all the latest updates for Windows 10 and AVG . Microsoft Edge is set as my default browser as I was told, internet access is best handled through Edge if you're using Windows 10.I also like to have a spare or back up web browser so I chose my favourite , Google Chrome, but left Edge as the default browser. When I tried to use Chrome it had very limited functionality in that it would take me to a search page but would not allow me to use any of the search results. I tried several other browsers and got the same result.I reset all the usual stuff and followed all,the instructions to remedy the situation but all to no avail. While I had other browsers on the computer Edge also lost some functionality and I couldn't access Microsoft help desk. I then uninstalled all the other browsers and just used Edge. Everything then seemed to be fine as long as I used only Edge. However, that still didn't allow me to use my chosen browser, Chrome. Someone in the Microsoft Answers help desk suggested I remove AVG from the equasion and miraculously , I can now use other browsers , Firefox, Chrome, Opera, and all alongside Edge. Can anyone supply a reasonable explanation for this ?
