Browser unable to load any website

I have AVG Ultimate. No subscription issues. All active. When AVG VPN is ON, browser does not get any connection. When AVG VPN is OFF, everything is fine. I tried turning OFF AVG Protection, browser works when VPN is ON. While VPN is ON and while browser is working, I tried turning ON Protection and browser starts failing. Please help. Dinesh Krishnan (Avast) seemed to have an answer emailed to Ian Bain. I am not sure if it resolved Ian's concern as noting seemed to follow his post. Please, please, help.
