Hello Alvin,
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused.
Usually the disk repair process takes few hours to get 100% completed. During this process we shouldn't restart or shutdown the computer, however if it hangs at particular percentage for more than an hour then we have to follow the instructions as mentioned in this article: http://avgread.me/1f5JYjW to skip the repair disk process.
We will help you with the browser issue, do you have the internet connection connected successfully to the computer?
Could you please reset any one of the browser once and check whether the issue persists?
I installed AVG Tune Up a couple of days ago on another computer. During the restart, my computer appear to hang after 10% completion of the disk review. I did a hard stop (shut down using the on/off button) and restarted my computer after about a minute. Again, during the boot the computer hung after 10% of the disk review was reported complete. I shut off the computer and restarted. It hung in the same place, but I let it run. After several hours I found a message on the screen telling me that the boot had failed and giving me options to continue. I chose the first option which was to boot Windows. That boot was successful, and there didn't appear to be any problems. The next morning I booted the computer and used the browser without any problems. But that afternoon, when I tried to launch the browser all I got was a blank page and the indication that it was searching for the site for a couple of minutes before the search appeared to stop. I couldn't (can't) even get the FireFox home page. I was able to look at my bookmarks and links saved in the address bar, but the search always drew a blank. I tried launching the AVG icon, but that, too, came up blank indicating that your page is on a remote server I can no longer access. How do I fix this problem?
