I can not boot my PC normally even in safe mode. When avgardisk.sys try to start, it reboot my PC. I only have acceess to the files if I boot from bootable USB device. I can delete it but not uninstall.
Well, standart repair option did not help. I have no restore point. This is USB bootable disk from another OS.
Hello Sam. Thank you very much for your time and patience. My name is Shawn, and I am writing to you on behalf of AVG’s senior support team.
Regrettably, there is not much more that can be done, from from what troubleshooting has been performed. I would suggest a reinstall of your operating system.
If you have Windows 10 (or Windows 8.1.8), there is an option to restore OS (pressing F8, after launch). Through this approach, your data should be safe.
Good luck, and I wish you a speedy recovery, Shawn

Checking back in.
No reply or response
I still cannot login via windows and very intermittently via Safe Mode and never on any other setting. Restore and Fix not restoring or fixing anything.
I have seen threads going back to April about this clear and present problem that locks avg users out of the latops/computers. When Ron, whom I feel like I know and completely empathise with has been at pains to try and get avg to firstly accept there is an issue, not of the avg users making (you, avg are still at pains not to accept responsibility, the end result being no correct patch further to notification in at least April of 2019. It is now December 2019), so no real solution is given to a problem if avg's making.
Please can someone take the time to respond. Let us take as read all the other complaints and go straight for escalation from senior level to management level problem solvers.
In these times of instant notification, electronic mail and the fact that this is a much reported problem please do me the curtesy of getting back to me today.
Thank you.
What kind of information do you need from my pc to solve problem with avgardisk.sys is not starting?
Thank you for writing your own post as requested.
If you are able to boot your PC normally, I'd request to uninstall AVG software and reinstall it once.
Hey there.
You can tell from my name I am having the same trouble as many others have reported.
I am on an old G56 HP Windows 7 Home Premier
An update between yesterday and today has rendered my laptop unusable.
In advance please let me inform you I read at length the many other complaints of the same exact problem "avgArDisk.sys" file.
I have not come on here to lambast you for the obvious frustration of so many who keep telling you the same thing, and you repeatedly avoid the actual issue of that "avgArDisk.sys" that disables Windows?!
I cannot log into my laptop. I put in my correct password and it says "The User Profile Service service failed the login. User profile cannot be loaded" and after a while refreshes the screen back to the Windows login page.
Please note ie do not ask me, I entered my correct password, as worked 24 hours ago and I have very repeatedly entered today.
When I enter the wrong password I get the message "The user name or password is incorrect.".
I have tried a recover to the day before yesterday and then back weeks. That has failed every time, whatever recovery time I try to go back to.
The fix errors option ran for hours and then failed.
Safe mode works… Well it is truer to say it Starts up and allows me to login sometimes. I can't do anything else there. It "sticks for quite a while @ avgArDisk.sys.So long actually I did not realise it actually did allow access in when I left it and watched a hour long program on TV, looked back at the screen and saw the larger print Safe Mode screen.
When I try the Safe Mode with Networking it freezes at "avgArDisk.sys" and everytime does so till it "crashes" to a refresh and back to the Windows 7 login page.
This is a serious hard wired Problem obviously sent with the latest update of avg. Please let us not re-hash any of the many… very very many … in essence "it must be you avg user, as it absolutely is not us or our product mantra".
To be clear, I cannot get on and access my laptop as I cannot log in. Safe Mode has allowed rare access… to nothing. Safe Mode and networking does not allow me access to my laptop. Safe Mode "sticks" @ "avgArDisk.sys" literally for a hour plus. Safe Mode and Networking sticks and stops @ "avgArDisk.sys" and eventually crashes into a reset and back to the Windows login screen.
To be clearer as I cannot login I cannot test anything, delete anything, change anything.
I do not have reboot disks for Windows…
Please Please Please do not, after reading that ask me to try and login in or delete anything or run anything. Ignoring people telling you over and over they cannot get in or do anything because of "avgArDisk.sys" has been beyond a frustration with many a poster. Let us not do that with me please.
Simply put I want access to my laptop.
Please detail how you have a patch to untangle "avgArDisk.sys" from my laptop and indeed others.
Matters like why is a App able to become integral part of my laptop, Windows where bad update renders laptops/computers useless is another very serious issue that you cannot keep ignoring and pretending it is not avg… FIRST however the patch fix. You are a high tec company, so replies and the solution will be swift and effective so that no one else is disabled by "avgArDisk.sys" and those of us who have been, are correctly re-enabled as close to immediately as you can get.
Thank you
Selecting Safe mode with Networking
Safe mode works sometimes…
Is there an update on this issue?
Did not work yet. I removed all avg*.* files from Windows\System32\drivers folder. When I try safe mode now it stops on Classpnp.sys or like this. If start in normal mode - the same: BSOD and reboot. Are there other locations containing AVG antivirus files?
Sam, I'd request to access other system repair options like system restore or reset the settings to default using the USB bootable disc.
I can not boot my PC normally even in safe mode. When avgardisk.sys try to start, it reboot my PC. I only have acceess to the files if I boot from bootable USB device. I can delete it but not uninstall.
I moved all these files to temporary folder. Nothing changed. BSOD and restart. But you tell me nothing about windows system32 drivers. Have I to move it too?
Thank you for the clarification, Sam.
We request you to try deleting the files associated with AVG antivirus and restart the computer.
Keep us informed about the status.

Did not work yet. I removed all avg*.* files from PC. Safe mode stops on CLASSPNP.sys then BSOD and reboot.
I apologize for the delay in response.
We have already escalated the case to our senior team, Sam. Once we get an update, we will share the information on this post.
Thank you for your patience.
Thank you, Sam.
If you are able to boot the PC, please download run AVG Clear tool to remove all traces of AVG.
