The setting for update, fails to work, it probably only works if you set it to Automatic.
Setting it to “Notify when download is ready” FAILS for the Program Update Available, it probably never downloads the update, so it never notifies you that an update is available.
Am now trying the setting “Notify when an update is available” but doubt that will work either. Both of these settings are the same as “Will update manually.”
Image attached taken 4-6-25, after randomly choosing to check the update, and one was available since 3-11-25.
Same fail on a Windows 10 machine and a Windows 11 machine, so it isn’t my computer, it is the program update feature that is failing to acknowledge the settings.
Has anyone from AVG technical support started fixing this bug?
It is still a problem, screenshot attached for the April 25 update which was never notified to both a Windows 10 or a Windows 11 computer, both with the setting shown in the screenshot.
As it stands, the user is required to click on Settings, Update to manually check if an update to the program is available, making all of the settings below Automatically update my application, identical to I’ll update it manually.
Is anyone from the AVG Support investigating this bug in the update program?
Just noticed today that another update has been available for many weeks, as you can see, it never notified that an update was available.
Is this the way the program is supposed to run? What is going on? REMOVE the option to update when available if it is not an active feature.
If Update Automatically is the ONLY real option, tell the users that.

What sort of “notification” is the program supposed to giving the user when an update is available? Bug still exists. Another screenshot attached.
The only way to find out about the update is to manually enter the Update section in Settings.
Is anyone from AVG fixing this bug in the program? It looks like they aren’t even responding to this. Is there another location to report a bug in the program?

The update is not notifying that an update is available. I find it only after randomly manually checking in Settings Update.
I’ve changed the setting to remind when an update is downloaded to see if that option works next month.

The program does not notify when an update is available.
It needs to put a notification in queue, not just show the update hidden in settings, that requires manually checking the settings every day to find updates!
This problem has existed for many months.
