Bug....Unless I keep videos/audio streaming, my Windows 8.1 will lose functions including playing audio and ability to open browser.

2 weeks ago, my internet experience was A-1, and I purchased AVG TuneUp. I let it scan my system and went ahead with all of its recommendations, including registry problem fixes, removing LOTs of duplicate files, and other recommendations. I also use AVG Anti-virus premium, and MalwareBytes.

I started having problems including an inability to re-start videos/audio streaming after I stop  streaming them. My Windows 8.1 will lose functions including playing audio and ability to open browser. Other functions include inability to restart computer using shortcuts and taskbar. I've had to do a hard shut down repeatedly.

My attempts to fix problem have included updating Windows 8.1Pro, and adding AVG Driver Update. The Driver Update informs me that all drivers are now up to date.

When I watch a YouTube video, I feel like a clock is ticking and know that it is a matter of time that my computer will be crippled, and I will have to perform 2 hard stops and starts to recapture audio/video. With the restart of the first hard shut down, it will fail to start Windows. With the 2nd hard stop/restart, Windows will open, and I have full functioning for a while. For example last night I had YouTube videos streaming all night, so that I would have ability to listen to videos today.

I did choose the option in AVG TuneUp that put many programs to sleep to save resources. AVG info included that the programs would awake with activation.

The Windows audio trouble shooter reported no issues.

I do not use a screen saver.

I use High Performance for power setting.

When my computer is not failing, it appears to run smoothly. I use a cable modem with wifi.

Appreciate deeply any recommendations for a solution.
