(C:) drive scan stuck

I have the same problem with C: drive when I use AVG Tuneup…only I get to 27% before it refuses to go further.

AVG 2015 wouldn't install until I completed a (C:) scan, now it says: scanning and repairing (C:) 10% complete - it has been in this state for the last 3 hours.  Please help
