Please add this file to AVG exception list, so that it will not be detected as threat. Please click on this link for the steps to add the file to exception http://avgclick.me/AddException
Thank you.

The file C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Search\Data\Applications\Windows\tmp.edb keeps coming up as a threat when AVG scans. AVG requires reboot to remove the threat, but upon rescan it shows again as a threat. It is really a threat, and if so, how do I get rid of it?

Vincent,
We are sorry to hear about the inconvenience caused. Could you please provide us the screenshot http://avgclick.me/getscreenshot of the threat AVG detected, name and version of AVG program you have installed? Thank you!

Vincent, please add this program to exception list and see if that fix the issue.
Thank you.

I would love to send a cc of this file to you, but for some bizarre reason, I can't seem to find the darn thing.  Making me nuts!  Any suggestions other than prozac?

Vioncent, For your info, just in case that you are unaware, you can post the screenshot here in your topic. Click on 'Answer' & then click on the 'Image' [mountain symbol] & follow the instructions.

Vincent, as this is a system file, we suggest you not to remove this. And it is better, to add this prorgam to AVG exception list. You can also send the sample of this file to AVG for analysis https://secure.avg.com/submit-sample
Thank you.
