Can AVG do a"System restore"?

Thank you for contacting us. We would like to inform you that you can not do a system restore with an anti virus program enabled and AVG can not perform a system restore on your PC. Thank you.

I have Code 19 problem and have tried ususal regedit route -without success. Want to put PC back by 40 days. System restore on Windows XP doesn't appear to work
