Looking for a browser that I can move to and that can accommodate opening PDF’s in Adobe.Having PDF’s open in a browser is seriously limiting and not conducive to productivity. To add to the frustration, in AVG Secure Browser if you inadvertently Download instead of Print the PDF to a PDF printer, then you lose the document because it’s downloaded in a format that cannot be opened. Is AVG Secure Browser that super browser or must the search continue?
If the main requirement is having PDFs open in the full Adobe Acrobat/Reader app rather than the browser viewer, you may not need to abandon your current browser. Chrome and Edge can be configured to work with Adobe Acrobat, including automatically opening downloaded PDFs in the desktop application.
I’d probably test that setup first. If AVG Secure Browser doesn’t provide a reliable way to hand PDFs off to the installed Adobe application, then switching to another Chromium-based browser may be worth considering. The “downloaded PDF can’t be opened” issue also sounds like something I’d troubleshoot separately, since a normal PDF download should remain a standard PDF file rather than becoming unusable.
