Can I use AVG AntiVirus software without interfering with my Carbonite backup?

I use Carbonite backup.  I'd like to use AVG AntiVirus software but I need to know that it won't interfere with my Carbonite backup.  If it won't interfere, is there anything special I need to do to make the two work together seamlessly?  Thanks!
