Can not activate component

I really appreciate your effort in trying to resolve this issue. The issues might be because of old/previous AVG traces.
In this case, I request you to remove AVG completely along with any previous traces using the AVG clear tool/AVG Remover tool and then do a fresh installation of AVG. This will ensure that none of the previous traces of AVG are left on your computer and you have an updated version.
Please follow the instruction (http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-troubleshoot-issues-after-upgrade-to-the-latest-AVG-antivirus-product) to run AVG Remover tool and AVG Clear tool.
After the computer reboots, you can follow the instruction to download/install AVG Free Antivirus.

In this case, I request you to repair AVG Protection (http://support.avg.com/SupportArticleView?urlname=How-to-repair-AVG), update (open AVG Free Antivirus > menu > settings > update) it one more time and reboot your computer once. After reboot, please check if your AVG program is working fine.

First of all I'am apologize for my ignorance...
I've just downloaded the free version of AVG. I can't activate the Web&email protection. I switch the button to green under the menu options, but it goes back to red immediately. It should can be activated, or i'ts happening because I use the free edition of AVG ?

I performed your solution (both repairind and updting)). Unfortunately it didn't work. The situation is the same.
Please allow me to be more specific.
When I open AVG Free Antivirus I see those two sections of "Basic Protection" tab. The first one, "Computer" is green and it writes "Protected" below the icon. The other one, "Web&mail" is red and i see "Not protected" underneath.
When I click on "Web&mail" icon a new window opens: "Web shield" is red and the red switch can't be turned on (to green). If I click on the switch, the colour of the earth icon from above turns green, but the switch remains red and the protection is not turning on. If I quit that windows and open it again, both icon and switch are red again.
The "Email Shield" icon and switch are green.
I'll completely uninstall AVG and reinstall it.
If I won't succeed, I would appreciate your futher help.
